One with nature.

I was once a tom-boy.  I would play with worms.  I would build snow forts with the neighborhood kids (hey, I did live up north at one time in my life).  I would stay outside from dawn ‘til dusk and come back in looking like Pig-Pen.

Dirt never bothered me, and it’s obvious it’s not going to bother my daughter either.  She gets down and dirty with the rest of ‘em and has no complaints about it.  She does her Mississippi Redneck/Louisiana Bayou mother very, very proud.  A princess girl she’s not, and I have photographic evidence to prove that!

April 2010 - Easter 017 Hoping to get some great “rustic looking swing” shots, Anna had other ideas in mind.  The instant I removed her from the dirt ground on which she was playing, she had a fit as evidenced in this photo.  This is 1 second ‘til meltdown.  Oh, and yes, that is a chocolate Easter bunny stain on her shirt.  I’m keepin’ it real.

April 2010 - Easter 010

The meltdown has begun.

April 2010 - Easter 020Annnnd she’s off.  This is the true sign she has some Mississippi girl in her – she’s walking around a bunch of pinecones with no shoes on.  Yet another reason why I should be mother-of-the-year.

4 out of 5 photos of Anna look like this:April 2010 - Easter 027This is because she’s always running away from me.

April 2010 - Easter 029Wow, she actually turned around!

April 2010 - Easter 030The expression on her face is priceless.  It’s like she’s saying, “Yeah, I’m better than you” yet she’s walking around with a chocolate stain on her shirt and totally barefoot.  Ahh, the irony!

April 2010 - Easter 036 Look, ma, a worm.  And some fleas and ticks.

April 2010 - Easter 040This is Anna waving bye bye.  I’m not sure where she thinks she’s going, but she had a date with the bathtub shortly thereafter.

April 2010 - Easter 058We tried some different scenery, but she wasn’t having that.  Basically, she was on meltdown status at this point, and we had to give her some time to chill out.

April 2010 - Easter 063 My mom stepped in to save the day.

April 2010 - Easter 068 And all was well in Anna-land.

April 2010 - Easter 069 Until my mom thought she saw a mouse.  Or something.  Not sure, but her face was too priceless in this photo not to post it.  Sorry, mom, I love you!
