So, my little sister is having a baby of her own – a boy! A BOY?! Seriously, we’re a family of women, I have a little girl, we’re all totally clueless when it comes to boy stuff. Snakes, and snails and puppy dog tails. Eek! Nah, we’re all so very excited to welcome little Jackson into our family. We’ll get to meet him in 8 short weeks (or sooner if he’s impatient like Anna was). I’m really hoping he’ll come on May 28th (his due date is June 1) since that’s my birthday and all. Please make sure you write that date on your calendar and send lots of presents to me. Thanks!
Anyway, back to the point of this blog. This past weekend we threw a baby shower for my sister and Jackson. It was so much fun decorating with blue stuff for a change. Everything turned out wonderfully! Here are some pictures from the day.
First of all, some of the decorations were made possible by some very awesome people. My good friend Allison made the invitations below. They were just perfect! Please excuse the blurred out parts – I don’t want you crazy stalkers to know my personal information, yo!
Allison also made the most precious name banner ever! Nicolle is going to hang this in Jackson’s nursery, too, so it serves dual purposes (shower decor, room decor).
Then I was super stoked to be able to use some PRECIOUS favor tags from Sherry at Party Pops. Party Pops offers Fun, Stylish, and Unique Party Decorations for all occasions. Personalized and Custom made for you! You can also check out her blog - http://www.partypops.blogspot.com/. Anyway, the party tags were an absolute hit at the shower. I would definitely recommend her Etsy store to every parent who reads this blog. Check it out! Here’s what she did for Jackson:
The set included the favor bags, the party tags and the ribbon to tie everything up – it was SO easy and looked wonderful. Thank you so much, Sherry!
Even though the weather was a little funky, it was a great day spending time with family and friends. Nicolle and Jackson were certainly showered with many wonderful gifts. Here are some photos from the day.
The cake was decorated to match the invitation. So precious!
Here’s the mama-to-be with her cake.
Here’s my child making a big mess of the balloons.

Just some of the loot – it actually extended past this picture all the way to the left of that table. It was insane!
Niki opening up the gift basket I gave her.
The precious Jackson hat, onesie and burp cloth set that I got from MadeCuteJust4U. Here’s a close-up:
If you want a set for someone, mention One Porkchop Blog at checkout, and you will receive 10% off your order!
Seriously, is that not the cutest basket ever?! Our close family friends made that for Nicolle and Jackson (as well as filled it with lots of great stuff).
Here’s my child trying to steal some presents.
Trying to steal presents again – she hasn’t quite grasped the concept that this isn’t her birthday.
Now she’s trying to steal the balloons.
I think this picture is hilarious. She was definitely trying to steal the show that day. I need to teach that girl some manners!
So, all in all it was a wonderful day! Jackson and my sister were definitely showered with love!
Now let’s make some predictions – how many of you think Jackson will be born on June 1? Earlier? Later? What will his weight/height be? Please leave a message with your guesstimate. The person who is closest (or on the dot) will win a special prize (yet to be determined). GOOD LUCK!

June 4, 7# 12oz, 3:53 pm. My birthday is May 29th, BTW. :)
What a beautiful shower! I love having a boy, it's so much fun!
I'm going to guess 9lb 14oz and 20in just like Nicholas. I'll also guess your birthday as the big day.
I know that's all going to be way off b/c most people don't have large turkey sized babies but still.
I'm going with June 2nd, 7lbs 1oz, 19 inches.
I guess, May 17th
weighing in at 6 lbs 14 oz. and he will be 19-1/2 inches long.
I LOVE THAT BASKET! TOO CUTE!
I'd guess 7lbs 8oz & 20in.
Good luck to your sister and Jackson!! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE that name. I told my husband that I wanted to name our first born son Jackson & he looked at me like I had 3 heads. He said "like Jackson Browne or Jackson 5?" He's a yankee, so I guess that's not that common of a name where he's from. I'll have to persuade him... wish me luck on that.
WOW! You guys did a great job, all the party details are super cute!!!
I saw your blog from the Foster Family.
Shut up!! Everything is perfect Nat!
Great job with the shower! I LOOOVE your sister's dress. Is it maternity? And can you ask her where it's from? ;)
